Now my ball is a medium size (~20cm diameter) and this device turns my ball, continuously on one size D Duracell battery, for four weeks. My device is a little noisy but nothing unbearable or problematic. Does about 5rmp. I tried to wire up a house electric adapter; it worked, but very noisy and fast. I couldn't find a low enough voltage adapter. Need 1.5Volts dc, could only find 3Volts dc.

I wanted a mirrorball rotator that didn't have built-in lights. This works fine, takes a fair amount of weight, and rotates at a moderate speed. It is quite large and ugly, and fairly noisy - making a whirring, ticking sound that doesn't show over music but is obvious in a quiet room. However, this is mostly likely to be used in noisy situations, like parties, so it shouldn't be a big problem.

Sadly the first one did not work so I contacted seller who immediately arranged a replacement to be sent. Unfortunately, the second one does not work either. The battery contact is very poor. After five minutes it stopped working. Even with the item switched off, the battery becomes very hot.

Worked twice then stopped. I've had one previously that worked for as long as I had it (lost during decorating) so assuming it's just a duff one. If I get the time to take it apart to figure out why it's stopped I'll let you know....but then....that's really the suppliers job given that this seems to be a common problem to be honest.

Due to the large size of this mirror ball motor I was disappointed in this purchase as I expected it to be more powerful and would only recommend this product for a very small mirror ball or a very light mobile.

Like the 1 star reviews, it seemed to break very quickly. It took me a while to figure out what was wrong, but it seems the hole in the metal plate that the rotating cylinder passes through (under the plastic cover) was too small. The little engine could power through for a while but eventually the battery would say no, or the cylinder would wedge itself so tight it would just get stuck. I removed the metal plate (with pliers and a hammer) and now it's working like a dream. (The metal plate was just there to hold the gears close together. You can make sure they stay snuggly engaged by taping the mechanism to the plastic cover instead). It's so cheap, if you're unlucky and do have this problem, I'd say it's worth the effort. Especially if the battery lasts as long as some say!

Works just fine. There have been some reviews that these are flimsy. Perhaps they are not all the same, but this version is strong enough for an 8inch mirror ball.

Great price
